It All Comes Down To This!

Yesterday was a BIG day!!! We sent the last of our paper work to our adoption agency so they can send it to China. What does that mean you might ask? Well this is the e-mail I received from our adoption coordinator….

It can take up to a week for a wire transfer to process to China, and then the Consulate usually has the packet for approx. 10 days. That would put things right in the middle of Chinese New Year, which means that things will be on hold for at least a week in early February. After the Consulate is done processing, Peter Fed-Exes everything back to the CCAA, which would probably be around the 2nd week in Feb, depending on when the Chinese New Year Ends. It could also be bumped back a week. So potentially the TA could be issued by the end of February, depending on where they’re at with the TA cycle. That might be a low or overly optimistic guess, but it could be possible for travel in March. If we miss TA’s on this batch round, we might not get the TA till later in March, with early April travel. But it will happen!!

Looking on the optimistic side we are looking at being in China the middle of March. That is if everything hits just right. So we are praying that everything will hit just right for us. This has been a long and winding road, and we are ready to start a new journey. A journey that will now include our sweet Liddia (Xin Xiau Yu).

  1. I'll keep your family in our prayers that CNY and festivities will not affect you too much. 3 years ago we were in the same boat waiting for Kai- we traveled at the end of March to mid-April.

I would love to meet up with you at Cyndie's tomorrow...but I'm not sure it will work out for me. I'll see what I can do- I'd love to visit and hear more about your family and upcoming journey!

    Love
