Few things in life are more stressful than having a new baby...except perhaps having a new baby that already has likes and dislikes and communicates them in a language you cannot understand.
In my opinion things are going very well. Rachelle is taking on the mother role for Liddia, and Liddia accepts it, for the most part.
A few things about Liddia--she is smart, and she knows what she wants, and doesn't want. At the breakfast buffet for example, Rachelle just walks around pointing at the options and Liddia lets Rachelle know very cleary which ones she wants and which ones she doesn't want.
Rachelle has done very well at helping Liddia know that she is the mom and Liddia is the daughter. This will still take some time, but it is going well.
Liddia asks Rachelle for help when she needs it, like zipping her coat, eating, getting drinks, etc. I think that is a good sign that Liddia trust Rachelle to care for her and meet her needs.
Here are some of the pictures so far of mother and daughter.
Liddia is beautiful, and she will be blessed her entire life by having a family who adores her. What a lucky young lady!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the new pictures...makes me feel happy to see that the transition is going well for the most part..hope you remembered to give sweet little Liddia a blessing just to put her at ease. I know you probably did that really quickly..but in the moment we forget the most important thing, and just wanted to make sure you did! Have a great week!
