We pause for station identification...

Homesick....needing "comments"

This is not really a post, just an advertisement.

Many of our wonderful family members and friends are either not reading the blog, or just very shy about leaving comments.

Comments are like letters of encouragement from home. Don't leave the mailbox empty.

Please help Rachelle curb the homesickness by leaving comments on the blog. We read each one with anticipation...she even puts on her special reading glasses to make sure she gets every word!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

  1. We are so sorry we have not left any comments we know how important they are but especially for you guys and this moment. We have enjoyed all of your blog and have some very special feelings in our hearts for you, adoption is an amazing process for everyone involved. Reading the blog has been one of the highlights for our family each day since you left. Thank you so much for including us in on your journey. Liddia is adorable, she is a great addition to your awesome family. Your boys are getting so big, it is amazing how fast that happens. Good luck with the rest of your time in China and know that our prayers are with you and your family.

Love - Cathy, Travis, Griffin and Orion

  2. Sorry. I'm completely guilty as charged! I've been checking in and following along, but not commenting {until today- I caught up a bit}.

I have loved following this journey. It brings up so many memories and feelings about China, adoption, and how much I have learned over the years.

I'll keep watching-and commenting- and hope that when you are home, we can get together again. Hopefully at a family event!

  3. I would have to join the 'guilty as charged' group as I have faithfully checked your blog and enjoyed every single post...but have failed in the commenting portion!

What an amazing journey you've been on, but I'm sure home is in almost every thought now that you've got your sweet daughter. We can't wait to see you guys again and to meet your sweet new little one.

  8. Yes, I have been lurking and enjoying every post. I hope all is going smoothly and we can see you soon.
We got 4-5 inches of snow yesterday after a morning of rain. More forecast for today and tonight. I'm glad the snow is covering up all the weeds for another few days. Spring is coming.
Have you seen the cherry blossoms yet?

  9. Oh those glasses are too funny! Love to see the funny side to you guys. Hey I had Drew over last night..and he was just so excited about his football meeting as he found out what position he and Spencer was going to play this season...maybe something to talk about when you Skype with them today...Drew especially. The boys seem good at least the 2 I see...not sure how the littler ones are doing. Hey will you tell your sister-in-law she is more than willing to send any or all of them down if she needs that break! I know family is coming over and giving her a much needed break that is nice..but if she needs it more often I will be more than happy to entertain Ben for a while. I can see by the pictures..that you are not getting no exotic vacation out of this trip..I see snow is there too! Dang I was hoping you would at least get to enjoy some sun...oh well! Can you write something in one of your posts...does Liddia speak Mandarin? Or something else? I have been trying to find something on the internet, that might be in her native tongue like singing..that she will enjoy and maybe calm her nerves when she is home! Let me know if you would..or email me (shawneefischer@aol.com). I know you are excited to come home...I know I was dying when I went on a cruise for only one week when Shaylei was just 3 months old. Know that everyone is praying for you...I put a link to your blog the other day on Facebook, and told everyone that you needed some LOVE as it sounded like you were extremely homesick and little down. So I hope I got a few other people checking in! Have a great weekend and Brendon..squeeze your sweet girls for me!

  10. I apologize as well for not posting comments as frequently as I should. I have thought of all of you more than you will ever know, and I was so grateful to be able to "see" you this week--though I must say, the picture today indicated a little more stress--I could see it in your eyes! :) Hee Hee! Since we spoke, I have been looking at the funny-and stressful-things in my everyday life as a mom. I started thinking of the changes that occurred each time we've added a child to our family, and with each one, the adaptations that we have had to make. You are in an entirely different world, making adjustments there, dealing with homesickness on top of it all. I can't even comprehend the adjustments you are constantly having to make, especially as everything around you is so unfamiliar. I just admire you--your faith and commitment to this sweet little girl! I can hardly wait to meet her, and I relished in hearing her laugh as she played the balloon game with you. I loved seeing her so tenderly attend to you when you hurt you. I don't know very much about attatchment disorders, or anything really about what you're going through, but its easy to see that she is a sweet and loving little girl, and the love that you have for her, and she is developing for you, is only going to grow. Faith has produced amazing miracles for you, and there is no doubt in my mind or heart that you and Brendon both posess the faith needed to foster and strengthen an eternal love with this little girl that will only bless your family more. There will be hard days of course--like the next plane ride :), but at least it will be getting you closer to home. Just know that regarless of the hard days or the good days, I will always provide a listening ear, and I will always love and respect you for the amazing people you are!

  12. sorry i haven't posted, but i have been reading. I'm missing my family, as they are in G-ville watching your boys, but they've been so good to Mandy as she's tried to deal with going from 1 to 6 kids overnight. Unfortunately we don't keep a routine nearly as well as most parents, so hopefully you can get your kids back into their normal routine when you get back. I've been praying for everything to work out so you can come home soon. thanks for your wonderful example...can't wait to see Liddia!
