What a Fascinating Place

This is such a fascinating place. I went for a quick evening jog, I know I could exercise on the treadmills in the hotel, but why do that when I could jog the streets of Guangzhou and explore such an interesting place?!

It turned out to be not such a short jog. When I returned, Rachelle said she was about the call the police.

I had no idea where I was going, and it was near 10:00 at night. I know you are all thinking I am crazy, but it is very safe here (and I can run fast!)

I just happened into a very busy shopping district, kind of like the Gateway in downtown SLC, only Chinese style of course. It was very late and there were still hundreds of people milling around shopping, eating, talking, etc. Instead of getting in a good run, I ended up wandering the streets observing the culture, people, and the sights of a city with over 20 million people.

Unfortunately I didn't have my camera, I will go there another time and take some pictures.

  1. Further down...or maybe right where you ran to, is a great toy market. I'm sure you're guide could get you a taxi there- incredible prices on toys.

Also, the zoo in GZ is fun if you need a day out.

And I'm kicking myself for not telling you yesterday, but we have the contact for the GZ branch, so you could have gone to church today...sorry.

  3. You should go to the Papa Johns on the upper floor,on the corner of the walking street (where the big plaza with big screen tv's are at).
It tasted so good at the end of our trip!! Plus, it was fun to eat pizza at an actual sit-down restaurant. Have fun and enjoy!

  4. Oh man poor Rachelle! Hopefully she's not so much of a worry wart as me I would have a complete mess and it's actually something I can totally see Luis doing! But I'm glad you had a fun run and that you run really fast :). I think that'd be awesome to just watch the people and culture! Next time take the camera!!
