First Hair Cut

All smiles before the scissors came out!

Liddia received her first hair cut on Aug. 22. It was a bitter sweet experience for me because it was a stark reminder of how much of her life I have missed. Our beautician said she definitely had never had a haircut before (except her bangs). So we were cutting off her sweet baby hair. It was a physical reminder to me that she had a life before me. I know to many it may sound silly, but I mourn for her as a tiny baby and toddler. I wish with all of my heart I could have been there for her first cry and first steps and for me her first hair cut represented some of that loss for me.
